Description

Step back and take a look at this uniquely rare and wonderfully solid Jaguar E Type 2+2 Coupe (4.2 Series 1). With credits and according to XKE Data.com Statistics (Link Click Here) a total of only 3,616 4.2 Litre 2+2 Coupes were produced, 2,643 of them were Left Hand Drive and 973 Right Hand Drive. To learn more about these early "Series 1 4.2 2+2 Coupes" and about the XKE vehicle ID decode in general visit "XKE By the Numbers" (Link Click Here) (again Thanks to XKEdata.com)

What makes this additionally special is the amazing 34 years of current ownership, 63K actual miles and rock solid no excuses condition. Purchased by the current owner in 1977 from the Seattle Jaguar Dealership as the prior  owner was trading it in on a new Jaguar. After a discussion with the owner and his paperwork was complete, the new/current owner acquired it on 05/09/1977 with approx 42k miles... Wow!

Since that time it has been petted, protected and enjoyed. The engine, power train and interior has been maintained as original. In the late 90's the entire car was professionally stripped jamb to jamb (see additional photos) and refinished in a deep black cherry color. Some other noted items include re-sleeved rear brake calipers, updated GM alternator and 1/2 wider "stainless steel spoke" wire wheels (original items included, factory wire wheels with knock offs, factory short wave radio, factory alternator and new replacement front bumper guards).

Equipment
Original 4.2 Litre 3 Carb Engine #7E 52912-9, Manual Gear Box #EJ610368, Car #1E 77122 and Body 4E52872.
Known Facts

Free and Clear Private Party Titled in Arizona State. A good solid example with a wonderfully straight solid body and quality professional "jamb to jamb" refinish that carries only light patina. Original leather interior with expected age (see additional photos). Runs and Drives great with no known issues other than slight yet normal oil seepage. Not perfect and not new (none are) but who would want this one any other way. Overall a No excuses presence and great survivor...
